A living memorial, built and kept by AI in two days
In July 2026 a family lost their father, six days before the funeral. Within 48 hours, the same operating layer described on this page had researched, written, designed, translated, and deployed his memorial — and now quietly helps run it. The site belongs to the family, so this case study names no names and links to nothing; the stills below are shown as images only, deliberately unsearchable.







From fragments to a life
The raw material was family chat exports and voice messages. The AI transcribed the audio, cross-referenced every detail into a verified biography — dates, places, the family tree, the shape of a life — down to his favourite colour, which became the site’s palette. Every public sentence traces to a family source; nothing was invented.
2,500 photographs, one gentle album
The photo archive was deduplicated, clustered, and quality-ranked by machine at a moment when asking a grieving family to sort it by hand would have been cruel. People confirmed only the final selection — the machine never decided what the public sees.
Three languages, the right register
Fully localized into the three languages of the family’s world — in the memorial register their tradition expects: the formal announcement style, lunar-calendar dates, traditional condolence phrases, every photo caption. Machine-drafted, independently machine-reviewed, family-approved.
Built to outlast
Visitors light candles, leave a few words, and write about individual photographs. Once a year the gathered words are printed into the family album — and, with each writer’s consent, inscribed permanently on a public blockchain, so they outlast any website.
AI-backed moderation
Every submission reaches the family within seconds — by email and, where the family prefers it, Telegram — with one-click review links. In parallel, a private bridge hands it to an AI pre-reviewer that screens for spam and sensitive content and drafts translations. Clean entries the family leaves untouched publish themselves after 24 hours; anything flagged waits for a human, always.
Administration without a backend
There is no CMS and no dashboard to learn. The family signs in on the site itself and edits any sentence in any language, or replaces any photograph, in place — with full history and one-click revert. Changes are live for every visitor immediately.
Why it matters
This was not a product demo. It is the same runtime — memory, review, control — applied to the most delicate website there is, directed in plain language, with no conventional development team, against a real funeral deadline. The measure of an operating layer is whether a grieving family can trust it for two days, and then for good.
